Our ethos

inlyfe wants to help you unlock your ability to engage in meta-cognition, that is, thinking about thinking.

Meta-cognition helps you to develop insight into why you do the things you do, your emotional states and what role your thoughts have in all this. It helps you get to know yourself better.

Once you understand who you are, you can make decisions that support and promote who you want to be. At inlyfe, we promote agency and autonomy in your own thought processes so you can increase your quality of life and your happiness quotient.

Our aim

inlyfe was created to provide people with easier access to better quality mental health clinicians. It is our belief that your geographical location should not determine the amount, and quality, of clinicians available to you.

COVID has broken barriers for psychology that haven’t been broken in a hundred and fifty years, changing the way we experience psychology for the first time since Freud was practicing. This means that you can have a mental health session in your apartment, in your car, at the beach – wherever it is you think you’ll get the best results.

Origin Story

inlyfe was created and is run by Michael and Geoff, two men with a passion for mental health and helping people realize their full potential. Seven years ago, Michael was based in South East Asia when he called Geoff in Bondi and asked for a referral to a good psychologist for a friend. Geoff wasn’t able to provide the details of any psychologist, let alone psychologists, that he knew for Michael’s friend.

A few years and lots of hard work later, inlyfe is making possible for anyone to access high quality mental health care from anywhere with an internet connection. Our wonderful clinicians share the inlyfe ethos and want to democratise healthcare for everyone.

Our approach

We believe that psychology should be based on what the client wants, not what the clinicians want and this challenges a lot of psychologists that want to live the nine-to-five life - traditionally clinicians were only available when you’re at work. There are a lot of different mental health clinicians with different styles and different personalities… it’s important to find the one that will work for you.

Geoff started studying psychology over twenty years ago. Studying Forensic Psychology in Sydney, then completing a Masters in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College Of Criminal Justice in New York City. He has predominantly worked in correctional and detention centers in New York, Sydney, Melbourne, Nauru and Christmas Island. He also has experience in crisis management and suicide prevention, private practice and inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Michael comes from a real-estate development and investment background - heading international projects with a focus on Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions.
